| November 22, 2009 | Started sewing a gray and pink pin striped dress after discovering I had a kitchen full of sour olives. I just finished the dress 15 minutes ago or so. Looks like I have something new to wear to work tomorrow. That should perk up my Monday a bit. :) | |
| November 27, 2009 | Michealynn and I went to JoAnne's today here in Seattle. It was less busy than a normal Saturday at the JoAnne's at home. They didn't even have numbers at the cut counter. It was strange. It was also the fastest trip I've ever made to JoAnne's. | |
| November 28, 2009 | Michaelynn took me to an outdoor recreation fabric store here in Seattle. They have floor to ceiling, wall to wall, outdoor grade fabric. I got really cool pink sparkly fabric to make a briefcase out of and black gortex fabric to make her water resistant trench coat with. I should have brought my sewing machine up here not my metal clay stuff. :) | |
| December 3, 2009 | Should be making bread, making calzones, doing the dishes, cleaning the fridge, working on jewelry but sort of wants to sew instead. | |
| December 5, 2009 | Just learned how to use the upholstery machine so I can sew my sparkle bag. It sure makes a pretty stitch. | |
| December 8, 2009 | Is
going to the gym, family law lunch then to finish the sparkle purse.
Just finished sewing this briefcase using the
pink sparkle fabric I bought in Seattle. |

| December 19, 2009 | Trying
to figure out which pattern to use for a jean skirt. I'm sewing a jean
skirt to have something to wear with the pink stockings I knit. I wanted
to replace my full length jean skirt because I could wear warm stuff under
it without looking too bulky. However, the knee length will show the
stockings better...Too many decisions.
Having pocket problems. I really need to read the instructions when doing pockets. Just finished the skirt and it looks stupid. There is a reason I stick to the same cuts in skirt, shirts and pants (even when I buy them). Anything other than the norm looks stupid on me. :( Now to figure out what I can do to salvage the days worth of sewing. |

| December 25, 2009 | Santa (Matt for those who don't know) brought me an embroidery machine! I'm so excited. It's the one I asked for, the Singer Futura 150. Santa liked the transmission for the Mustang. | |
| December 26, 2009 | I
really like my old Brother sewing machine but REALLY REALLY like the new
Singer embroidery machine. And I haven't even done any embroidery with it
yet. I've just been playing with the normal sewing functions. :D
My embroidery machine is embroidering a sample. Now I finally understand why the bobbing winding machine (separate from the sewing machine bobbin winder) is valuable. |
|
| December 29, 2009 | I'm
finishing the jacket. Then on to an other
black skirt. Then...who knows.
One step buttonholes are the BEST! I just set the machine, put my foot on the peddle and the machine does it ALL. My new embroidery machine s awesome! Not only does it embroider, do regular sewing and have the awesome one step buttonhole program but it also has a special foot with a guide for blind hems. That is awesome! Needless to say, I'm happy with my embroidery machine and I'm not even using the embroidery part of it. |
